EP Meeting and Presentation of an ELI Instrument at the EPRS in Brussels (Belgium)

ELI President Christiane Wendehorst met with European Parliament Officials and attended a presentation of the first ELI Instrument on Prevention and Settlement of Conflicts of Exercise of Jurisdiction in Criminal Law.

On 4 December 2017, ELI President, Christiane Wendehorst was cordially welcomed by Diego Canga Fano (Head of Cabinet of Antonio Tajani (President of the European Parliament)) and Michael Weiss (Team Leader of the Cabinet of Antonio Tajani). Wendehorst gave an update on the recent activities of the ELI and discussed future cooperation possibilities.

Thereafter, Wendehorst attended the Conflicts of Criminal Jurisdiction: Roadmap to Legislation at EU Level event. This latter was co-organised by the ELI and the European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS).

The welcome addresses were given by the Director General of the European Parliamentary Research Service, Anthony Teasdale. Wendehorst gave background information on the first ELI Instrument on Prevention and Settlement of Conflicts of Exercise of Jurisdiction in Criminal Law. She was followed by the Project Reporters Katalin Ligeti, John Vervaele and Andé Klip, who presented the main output of this completed ELI Project. The concluding remarks were given by Joseph Dunne (Director of the European Parliament Library).
