Twigg-Flesner studied for his LLB and PhD at the University of Sheffield. He is now Professor of International Commercial Law at the University of Warwick (since September 2017). Before joining Warwick, he was Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Hull (2010–2017), having previously been a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and Reader there. Before joining Hull in 2004, Twigg-Flesner had been a Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University (1999–2002) and Sheffield (2002–2004). He is now a Fellow of the ELI, an Associate Academic Fellow of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple, and one of the law editors for the Journal of Consumer Policy. He has also been a Senior International Fellow at the University of Bayreuth (2016–2018), and a Visiting Professor at the Universities of Münster, Bielefeld, Osnabrück (FsV-Eurolecturer) and City University Hong Kong. His research interests are in the areas of international, European, and English commercial, consumer and contract law. A particular focus of his current research is on the implications of the digital economy on these areas of law. He has published widely on EU consumer and contract law, including two monographs, two edited collections, and co-authored the EC Consumer Law Compendium.
