AI and Public Administration: Project Team and MCC Meeting

03.11.2021

On 3 November 2021, the Project Team and Members Consultative Committee (MCC) Members of the ELI project on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Public Administration – Developing Impact Assessments and Public Participation for Digital Democracy met online for a final discussion on their revised Model Rules.

The Project Team presented the overall structure and aim of the Model Rules, which deal with an impact assessment of algorithmic decision-making systems used by public administration. Participants then considered the Model Rules on an article-by-article basis. The discussion evolved around the applicability and scope of the Model Rules as well as their interplay with the proposed AI Act. Members of the project’s MCC provided several valuable suggestions to further fine-tune the text.

The text will be evaluated by the Advisory Committee and MCC by mid-November 2021 and will be subsequently submitted to ELI bodies for their final considerations and votes in due course.
