Professor Francesco Paolo Patti is a scholar at Bocconi University in Milan, where he currently serves as Associate Professor of Digital Law and Private Law (Università Bocconi). Beginning September 1, 2025, he will assume the role of Full Professor at the University, marking a significant progression in his academic career. After earning his J.D. from Roma Tre University (2010), he obtained an LL.M. from Münster University (2011) and a Ph.D. in Economic and Business Law from Sapienza University of Rome (2014).
Patti has garnered fellowships and research positions at top European institutions, including the EUI, DAAD, Max Planck (Hamburg), and Roma Tre. Since 2018, he has held his associate professorship at Bocconi and in 2021 was elected to the Council of the European Law Institute. His scholarship—more than 100 publications—spans classical civil law (Contractual and Succession Law) and cutting‑edge digital topics such as AI Liability, Smart Contracts, Blockchain, and Crypto‑asset regulation, including work on the MiCA framework. This breadth positions him at the intersection of tradition and innovation, shaping the legal contours of emerging technologies and foundational Civil Law alike.
