General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The ELI, which has its Secretariat at Schottenring 16/175, Vienna, Austria, collects and/or processes data, as defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), relating to members, project contributors, employees, event attendees, newsletter recipients and persons that contact it or which it contacts on an ad hoc basis, for the purposes of running the organisation (eg names, surnames, nationalities, email addresses, etc). Depending on its nature and source, data will be stored for a maximum of seven years after cessation of the purpose for which it was collected and may be shared with third parties (eg the ELI’s designated accounting firm or auditor or the European Commission) to enable the ELI to fulfil its legal and/or contractual obligations.

As a data subject, you have the right to the following concerning your data, among others: information, access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability. You also have the opportunity to withdraw consent given for data processing at any time without providing reasons. Finally, you have the opportunity to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (www.dsb.gv.at) concerning any infringement.
