Law, economics, and management have traditionally held a prominent place in Nîmes. The first of these, established more than thirty years ago, has always enjoyed enduring success. The city of Nîmes indeed offers great promise for legal professionals, as it hosts a judicial court, a court of appeal, and an administrative court. The demand in this field is therefore both real and constant.

The range of programs has since expanded to meet the needs of students interested in issues related to economics and management, through the creation of a first and then a second cycle in Economic and Social Administration (AES). The overall offering is coherent and aims to promote integration into legal professions, public service, or the corporate sector.

In the field of research, the Faculty of Law is part of the UPR CHROME, a research unit bringing together around fifty members (including permanent staff, PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers). Its objectives are:

The study, through cross-disciplinary approaches (technological and social sciences and humanities), of phenomena related to the emergence and/or chronic nature of risks, as well as their management—both from a scientific perspective and in terms of their consideration in decision-making processes and in public, media, and political debates.

Supporting informed decision-making regarding emerging and chronic risks to the safety and well-being of populations.
