ELI meets representatives of the South East European Law School Network

23.11.2012

On 23 November 2012, the Speaker of the ELI Senate Irmgard Griss and ELI Executive Committee Member Christiane Wendehorst met with representatives of the South East European Law School Network (SEELS) and the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in order to discuss the potential for collaboration between the ELI and SEELS.

SEELS has been successful in bringing together Law Schools from South East Europe with the goal of institutionalising the exchange of legal academic expertise by offering legal education, research and professional training as well as facilitating the mobility of students, academics and legal practitioners.

Important discussion points at the meeting were the prospect of SEELS becoming an Institutional Observer to the ELI, the potential for the ELI to gain exposure via SEELS in the region of South East Europe where ELI Membership is currently still weak, as well as other possible forms of cooperation.
