ELI Output Takes Centre Stage at ECLAN Annual Conference in Vienna

Bachmaier Winter and Salimi presented ELI’s Proposal on Admissibility of E-Evidence in Criminal Proceedings on the occasion.

On the 3 May 2024, a session was devoted to the ‘Influence of EU law on the admissibility of evidence’ at the European Criminal Law Academic Network (ECLAN). ELI Co-Reporters. Prof Dr Lorena Bachmeier Winter and Prof Dr Farsam Salimi, presented ELI’s Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and the Council on Mutual Admissibility of Evidence and Electronic Evidence in Criminal Proceedings. Prof Dr Lorena Bachmaier Winter described the aim and raison d’etre of the scope of the Proposal and the challenges encountered in drafting it. Prof Dr Farsam Salimi outlined the key articles of the ELI output, following which a lively discussion ensued.
