ELI Represented at the Uniform Law Commission Annual Meeting

Sjef van Erp, Vice-President of the ELI, represented the Institute at the Annual Meeting of the Uniform Law Commission, The National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws.

The Meeting took place on 20–26 July 2018 in Louisville, Kentucky (USA). Van Erp elaborated on the role of the ELI, the recent developments in the ELI’s projects as well as on the Institute’s ambitious goals. He also participated in various sessions, including on the Uniform Criminal Records Accuracy Act, on the Civil Remedies for Unauthorised Disclosure of Intimate Images Act, on the Electronic Wills Act, on Tort Law Relating to the Drones Act as well as on the Highly Automated Vehicles Act.

The Uniform Law Commission (ULC, also known as the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws), established in 1892, provides states with non-partisan, well-conceived and well-drafted legislation that brings clarity and stability to critical areas of State statutory law.
