The Family and Succession Law SIG Awarded the SIG of the Year Prize

On 23 September, at the ELI Annual Conference 2025, the ELI Family and Succession Law SIG was awarded the ‘SIG of the Year 2025’ prize.

The SIG, co-chaired by Elena Bargelli, Francisco Javier Jiménez Muñoz, and Ilaria Pretelli, with Gregor Christandl chairing the sub-SIG on Succession Law was conferred the award by the ELI President, Prof Dr Teresa Rodríguez de las Heras Ballell, in the context of the Gala Dinner of the ELI Annual Conference.

The SIG focuses, among others, on the enforcement of family rights (custody of children); matrimonial property regimes; surrogate motherhood; the presumption of death; transgenerational distribution of assets; and the acceptance of jurisdiction in private international law.
