AI and Public Administration Project Team Meeting


The Project Team and Assessors of the ELI project on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Public Administration – Developing Impact Assessments and Public Participation for Digital Democracy convened remotely on 25 May 2021 to discuss rules for public participation.

Participants discussed the scope of the provision of the Model Rules, which deals with public participation in instances when public administrations are considering deploying AI systems, and provided further drafting suggestions. They also considered how the Model Rules that are being developed by the Team will be complementary to the recent European Commission’s Proposal for a Regulation laying down harmonised rules on artificial intelligence.

The next meeting of the project will be a joint Project Team-Advisory Committee meeting on 29 June 2021.
