As part of the ELI in the World series celebrating the 15th Anniversary of the European Law Institute (ELI), ELI President Teresa Rodríguez de las Heras Ballell met with representatives of the Law Reform Commission of Ireland during a visit to Dublin.

The meeting brought together President Rodríguez de las Heras Ballell and members of the Commission, including Frank Clarke, President of the Law Reform Commission, Commissioners Damien Moloney, Eileen Roberts, Oonagh Breen, and Owen O'Sullivan, as well as senior members of the Commission's legal and research staff. Paul Keane, ELI Council Member and Co-Chair of the Irish ELI Hub, also attended.

The exchange provided an opportunity to discuss areas of shared interest in law reform and legal development. Participants reflected on the contribution of ELI's work to contemporary legal debates and explored topics including third-party litigation funding, compensation for victims of crime, reform of non-court adjudicative bodies, recognition of foreign divorces, liability of unincorporated associations, and land conveyancing.

The meeting further strengthened the dialogue between ELI and the Law Reform Commission, highlighting the importance of cooperation between European and national legal institutions in addressing common legal challenges and advancing the development of the law.

The engagement also reflected the objectives of the ELI in the World series, which promotes exchanges with legal institutions and stakeholders across jurisdictions while celebrating fifteen years of ELI's commitment to improving the law and fostering legal cooperation throughout Europe and beyond.
