ELI President Speaks at the – European Judicial Network Conference

19.03.2026

The meeting took place in Brussels

The meeting brought together representatives from across Member States, the European Commission, and key legal networks to discuss the application of Regulation (EU) No 650/2012 on succession, including practical challenges arising in cross-border cases and recent developments in case law.

During the session, the ELI President presented the Institute’s ongoing work on enforcement against digital assets, contributing to the broader discussion on how legal frameworks must adapt to technological developments affecting cross-border succession and asset management.

The exchange provided a valuable opportunity to engage with the European Commission and national experts, with the Commission expressing strong support for ELI’s approach and openness to further cooperation.

This meeting reinforces ELI’s role in contributing to European legal dialogue at both policy and practitioner level, particularly in areas where technological change intersects with established legal frameworks.
