A year of anniversary events marking 15 years of ELI

Marking 15 Years of ELI

On 1 June 2026, ELI will mark 15 years since its foundation. Over this period, the Institute has developed into a leading independent forum dedicated to improving the quality of law in Europe through analysis and inclusive dialogue among legal professionals, institutions and stakeholders.

Anniversary Events in 2026

To mark this milestone, ELI has hosted and will continue to host a series of anniversary events throughout 2026, reflecting both its European base and its long-standing cooperation with partners across different regions of the world.

Across Europe, events have already taken place in PortugalDenmark and the United Kingdom, with further events planned in Croatia, Romania, Cyprus, Spain, France, Ireland, Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Greece. In addition, anniversary activities are foreseen with partners in Asia, North America, South America and Oceania, including events or exchanges in India, South Korea, China, the United States, Canada, Chile and Australia.

In some instances, these celebrations will be organised jointly with partner institutions marking important milestones of their own, including events connected to the centenary of the  International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) and the 60th anniversary of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), reflecting long-standing cooperation and shared engagement in legal dialogue and law reform.
