The event will open with welcoming remarks from the SIG chairs – Steen Thomsen, Anne Sanders, and Mark Ørberg – followed by an introduction to the new SIG by ELI President Prof Dr Teresa Rodríguez de las Heras Ballell.
The thematic focus will be on research foundations, explaining why foundation ownership is particularly common among research‑intensive companies. The keynote presentation will discuss how foundation ownership supports LEO Pharma’s long‑term stability, research funding, and governance, including its shared ownership structure with a private equity fund. A Q&A session will follow.
The event will also form part of the ‘ELI in the World’ celebrations held in honour of the Institute’s Anniversary.
