The event, which brought together participants from Croatia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Italy, commenced with a warm welcome address from Dr Ivan Tot (ELI Croatian Hub Co-Chair; Assistant Professor at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Economics and Business).

This was followed by an enlightening lecture on ‘The Green Transition Puzzle: Energy Communities as a Missing Piece’ delivered by Yulia Sergeeva (Junior Legal Advisor at Ocean Grazer), winner of the 2023 ELI Young Lawyers Award.

In addition to presenting her award-winning paper, Sergeeva shared with the participants her motivation for applying for the ELI Young Lawyers Award, perks of winning the award, and her experience afterwards.

Following a Q&A session with participants, Tot presented the call for 2024 ELI Young Lawyers Award, encouraged students to apply for the award, and invited all participants to share the call with their younger colleagues.
